MID TERM MUSIC VIDEO
For our music video as part of the marketing campaign, I think we can all agree that we were very proud of how it came out. The process took several days of long hours filming in a hot garage with no air conditioner. Not to mention, we were in gas masks and rain suits, which made it significantly hotter. By the end of shooting, everyone was soaked in sweat, but it was all worth it.
The lighting was also a challenge to perfect in the process of shooting, but it ended up being one of the best mise-en scène features of the video. It was challenging to come up with the perfect lighting for every shot because it was pitch dark, and we only had a flashlight and had to adjust it to every shot. The flashing lights in the kill scene came out as well as it did due to the shadows and flashing lights. Setting that scene up took about an hour.
Rock is a theme that nobody in our group was familiar with, so we had to do extensive profound research all about it. It pushed us to get out of our comfort zone and learn a plethora of new things. Producing the story-telling music video was the choice we easily agreed on as we knew it allowed us to be creative, and it would certainly be our best work.
The editing process was fairly simple because the hard work was done while filming. I edited the video, and I enjoyed it a lot. Seeing the music video come together slowly but surley was certainly a process I enjoyed, and I would like to keep editing in the future.
On the negative side of things i certainly think our group lacked communication and execution at times. We did have a lot of mis understandments and arguments because we were all striving to make the best marketing campaign possible. I can be intense sometimes due to being a perfectionist, so I will make sure to be less intense for the future. We knew nothing was personal, and we all had the same goal in mind and just had to better the little things, like communication and figuring out rides beforehand.
To finish up on the positive side of things, we have a lot to talk about. The entire group was focused and dedicated to having the best possible project. We prioritized this and never complained about the long shooting process. We all had creative ideas and contributed effectively. I think as a team we produce very good work and are all hard workers.
